Peggy Jane (Beans) Stewart was born on 12/17/1941 in Lexington, Dawson, NE. On the afternoon of 1/12/2023 at age 81, our beautiful mother, grandmother, sister and wife went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus and husband, the love of her life, after a short illness. We know, though our hearts are heavy, that she is in a better place, free from all pain and in the arms of her beloved husband, Al most likely singing their duet.
Peggy is survived by children, Cindy Gleason (Samuel), Greg Stewart (Ann), and Brian Stewart along with grandchildren Heather Zamperini (Daniel) , Kaitlin Gleason, and Jeffrey Stewart. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Tahlia and Zane and many nieces and nephews.
Peggy’s father Ray was a pastor and they moved from Nebraska to Boise, Colorado and onto California where she met Al Stewart. In 1964 they were married and in 1970 they moved to Boise and were eventually able to purchase their acreage. Peggy had struggled with anxiety and after receiving help herself went on to counsel many people who had the same problem.
Peggy loved tea parties, music, traveling, gardening, and was a chess master. She was a prayer warrior and would send cards out to encourage people regularly. She was a cancer survivor, her faith making her only stronger and more compassionate. Each of her grandchildren also learned to play piano from her and they remember the hymnals she would play loudly with all the joy in her heart.
