Paul Harris Farwell, 74, of Caldwell, was born on Friday December 1st, 1950, and took his last breath the evening of Friday May 2, 2025.
Paul began his younger years in the Parma, Idaho area. Around five years old, his family moved to Karcher Road, where he attended Boulevard Christian Grade School. His high school years were spent at Nampa Christian High School, involved in sports and many teenage shenanigans. After High School, he followed in both of his older brothers’ footsteps by joining the Army National Guard. On days not involved with the guard, he attended Boise State College studying automotive repair, opening the door for future business choices. Partnering with his brother Wayne, he owned several businesses, including Fast and Fair Towing, Star Parts Inc. salvage yard, and Farwell Auto Body in both Nampa and Caldwell.
In the summer of 1975, Paul met Ivalee for a friend’s gathering on the lake. They got engaged in December of 1975, marrying in June of 1976. Their first home was in Caldwell, a close location to the Caldwell shop. It made it easy to return home after taking “wrecker” calls, especially in the middle of the night. In 1977 they welcomed their daughter Shelley. Two years later, they moved to the top of the hill off Hwy 55. According to Paul, “you could see the whole valley and it was one of the best places to see all the fireworks during Fourth of July”. So many family and friend gatherings were shared there. Later, Paul and Ivalee divorced.
For those who knew Paul realized he was always on the go. He always had a plan, a place to be. If he wasn’t busy at the shop, or at a car show with his ‘55 Chevy Bel Air, you could find him at the Elks Lodge. At a young age, he became a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. As of this year, 2025, he had been a lifelong member with 51 years under his belt. He served in many positions within the Elks, climbing the chairs to Exalted Ruler, which he was so proud to be. Onto PER, Trustee, then Chairman of the Trustees, ending as the Secretary of the Lodge. Every year he looked forward to national convention and ritual competitions. He loved his brother Elks. He considered them his 2nd family.
When not working or supporting the Elks, he was on the golf course or spending Sunday afternoon with friends and family.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Ruel and Renabel Farwell; his brother, Warren (Joanne) Farwell; his sister, Connie (Roger) Wright; and three baby sisters, Jane, Becky, and Bethal.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Shelley (Steven) Jacobson and grandson Connor; his brother, Wayne Farwell; his sister, Joan (Mike) Petersen; and nieces and nephews that all have their own stories they remember.
Paul will be laid to rest near his parents at the Parma Cemetery on June, 25, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. with a grave side memorial with family and friends. Gathering to follow graveside in Caldwell TBD.
