Patricia M. McCoy Patnoe, 97, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 10, 2025, in Boise, Idaho, due to natural causes. She was born on December 1, 1927, in Bremerton, Washington, to Joseph Valentine Latrell and Nannie Tegstrom Latrell.
Patricia attended Bremerton schools and later went on to study at Linfield College. On August 1, 1947, she married James J. McCoy JR. in Seattle, Washington, and together they had three children. Following James' passing, Patricia remarried Charles Patnoe, who also preceded her in death.
Throughout her life, Patricia lived in various places, including Bremerton, Washington; Fargo, North Dakota; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Cheyenne Wyoming; Denver, Colorado; Boise, Idaho; Kuna Idaho; Honolulu Hawaii; then back to Boise where she resided until her death. She worked at several places over the years, including the Mt. Rainier Lodge, a telephone company in Seattle, and, alongside her late husband James, they ran JM Ranch Photography Studio in Kuna.
A passionate hobbyist, Patricia enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, and photography. She also loved her time spent on her hobby farm, raising a variety of animals, including chickens, pigs, cattle, horses, and dogs. Her faith played a central role in her life, and she was an active member of the Kuna Baptist Church, where she volunteered and attended services regularly. Patricia also gave her time to the Morningstar Marketplace, the Book Club of Morningstar, and was a member and honoree of the Professional Photographers of Idaho and the Professional Photographers of America.
Patricia was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children: Jim McCoy (Jeannie), Kathy Poole, and David McCoy (Shawna). Her grandchildren include Josh McCoy, Shelle Poole, Shayne Poole, Naomi McCoy, and Levi McCoy, along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands, James and Chuck, and her son-in-law, Russ Poole.
A graveside service will be held at the Kuna Cemetery Wednesday November 19th at 1100 A.M. where Patricia will be laid to rest. Pastor Scott Piper will preside over the burial. Memorial donations may be made to the Kuna Baptist Church or Morningstar Senior Living, organizations that were close to Patricia’s heart.
Patricia's family and friends will miss her kind and generous spirit, her love of life, and her unwavering faith.
