Patricia Ann McKichan (Patti) of Meridian, Idaho, formerly of Portland, Oregon passed away November 3, 2024 at St. Luke’s Meridian Medical Center.  Patti was born on May 18, 1934 in Portland, Oregon to Julius Buena Ventura deVera and Irma Laverda Turner deVera. She attended Forest Grove Union High School, where she participated in musical and cheerleading activities.  She also advanced her excellence in music and piano with special studies at Pacific University in Forest Grove.  Her exceptional talent for music developed into a life long passion that blessed the lives of everyone she associated with.

Highlights of her musical endeavors included an invitation to direct a choir for the dedication of the Seattle Washington Temple and having the honor of directing the acclaimed Portland musical, “In Her Mother’s Footsteps”.  Patti possessed the unique ability to connect with others, helping them to feel individually noticed and loved.  She brightened any room she entered and the life of everyone she met.  She loves her Savior, Jesus Christ, and cared deeply about serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She often expressed that the Meridian Idaho Fairview Ward of the church were like family to her.

All who knew Patti are aware of the deep unconditional love she has for her family; blessing every family member with her special love and attention. “Grandmother”, as she is known by her family, has impacted each member of the family with her individual, custom homemade cards for birthdays, holidays, and anniversaries; dedicating time to scripting individually tailored messages.

Our Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother will be greatly missed.  Her legacy of love, kindness and faith in Jesus Christ will live on.  We know she is joyfully reunited with the love of her life for the last 40 years, Ronald Hugh McKichan, and a grandson Aaron Batteen (both of whom preceded her in death).  Patti is survived by her children Val Batteen (Nancy), Valynn Price (David), and Von Batteen; 16 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren; step children Leslie Wolvert, Ronda Davis (Ron) and Roger McKichan (Gail).  She is also survived by half siblings George T.
