Pamela Jane Hein, 76, of Eagle Idaho, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022 in Boise, Idaho at St Alphonsus Regional Medical Center.  There will be a Celebration of Life service at Cascadia of Boise Nursing Home on Saturday, December 17 at 3:30pm.  All are welcome.

Pamela was born on July 31, 1946 in Mountain View, California to Ralph and Anne (Workman) Mears.  She attended Mountain View High School, then worked at the local bank in Mountain View.  She married Manuel Hein in January of 1968, and proceeded to have 3 sons who were the light of her life.  As the boys got older, she attended San Jose Barber College and graduated in 1980, and then went to work with her husband at PJ’s Barber Shop in Mountain View which primarily served Moffett Field Air Force Base.

Eventually they sold the barber shop and moved on to a sailboat, where she and Manuel traveled up and down the coast of California down to La Paz Mexico where she proceeded to leave her mark of kindness, and pick up lifelong friends wherever she went.

When her father passed, she left California, and moved to Ohio, then Northern California and eventually Idaho, where she spent her time traveling, visiting her grandchildren and enjoying her retirement.  There was not a sport she didn’t enjoy nor a card game she didn’t master.  She particularly enjoyed watching her grandchildren perform and compete.

Pam was known for her kindness and her complete lack of judgement of others.  She accepted everyone as they were and made everyone feel comfortable. She was gregarious and always was surrounded by friends, old and new.  She was a Scrabble master and was a fearsome Bingo player… she was also a serial letter and card writer and kept up all of her long distance relationships to the very end.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Michael Mears.  She is survived by her sons: John Hein (Lillian) of Denver Colorado, Jeff Hein (Karen) of Eagle Idaho, and Dominic Hein of San Jose California, her 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren whom she adored.
