P. Denise Giles, age 63, of Meridian, ID, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025. She was born on June 3, 1961, in Twin Falls, ID, to Jackie Lee Edward White and Sharon Bonita Broncheau.
Denise earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Boise State University in 1991, followed by a Juris Doctor from the University of Idaho in 1996. She dedicated her career to public service, practicing law as a public defender for Twin Falls County and with the nonprofit organization Co-Ad, where she passionately stood up for those who needed it most.
She was passionate about her Native American heritage and participated in Nez Perce events and celebrations. Denise also enjoyed music and photography, and took great pride in documenting meaningful moments—whether through photos, videos, mementos, or keepsakes. She had a deep love of travel and took every opportunity she could to see new places. Above all, she had a great sense of humor.
She is survived by her two daughters, Dominique Harley of Sacramento, CA, and Brittney Giles of Boise, ID; two grandsons, Chase Harley and Caden Harley, both of Sacramento, CA; her mother, Sharon Permann of Culdesac, ID; her brother, Jack White, and her sister, Jamie Garner, both of Boise, ID; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jackie White, and her brother, Jeff White.
Denise will be remembered for her intelligence, her dedication to justice, and her ability to find humor in everyday life. Somewhere out there, she’s taking a step to the right and doing the Time Warp again. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
