Norman Stanley Niles

08/08/1956 ~ 10/05/2024

Norman Stanley Niles went to be with our Heavenly Father on October 5th, 2024. He passed peacefully at home with his loving wife, Liane, and son, Daniel, by his side. Born on August 8, 1956, to Frank K. Niles and Phyllis Walker Niles, Norm was known for his love of laughter and his generous spirit.

“Norm,” as he was known by all who loved him, was deeply devoted to his family. A natural jokester, he never missed an opportunity to tell a great story, pull a practical joke, or share a hearty laugh with those he loved. His laughter could light up a room, and it will continue to echo in the hearts of his family and friends, serving as a warm reminder of the many special moments that they shared.

A man of many talents, Norm felt most at home in nature, where he found both peace and adventure. He spent countless days camping, fishing, and hunting, finding joy in the ocean near beautiful lakes and mountains. Many nights were spent around the campfire, gazing at the stars, creating cherished memories with his family and lifelong best friend, Patrick Anderson (Josette). In addition to his love of the outdoors, Norm was also a talented artist, expressing his creativity through painting beautiful landscapes and portraits that had personal meaning to him.

Norman proudly served his country as an Air Defense Artillery gunner with the First Infantry Division of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his military service, he attended college for mechanical engineering and went on to become a Master Electrician in the I.B.E.W. As a Vietnam-era veteran, he will be celebrated with full military honors.

At his request, he will be laid to rest by the Oregon Coast and in the Beartooth Mountains of Montana.

Norman is preceded in death by his father, Frank K. Niles; brothers, Frank E. Niles, Marlin Niles, Aaron O’Shea, and Marty Niles; sister, Edith Guzman; and former wife, Nadine Niles.

He is survived by his wife, Liane Niles; his mother, Phyllis Crawford; his children, Daniel Niles, Marie Ladouceur (Ryan), Ryker Niles, and David Niles (Amanda); granddaughter, Averie, who he called his “Lil Pun-kin;” siblings, Robin O’Leary (Gerry), Jim Niles, Mike Niles, and Tami Fairbanks (George); his first wife, Terri Niles; and many other beloved family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

A memorial service will be held on October 15th, 2024, at 4:00 PM. The services will take place at Bowman Funeral Parlor, 10254 W Carlton Bay Dr, Boise, ID 83714.
