Nola Mae (Masters) Ridenour

Nola Mae Ridenour, 78, a resident of Mountain Home, formerly of Boise, passed away February 4, 2024, in Mountain Home.

Nola was born on July 29, 1945, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Huntsman) Howard, and was later adopted by Roy and Eva (Hansen) Masters.

She attended elementary and junior high school in Boise, Idaho, and graduated from Borah High School in 1963. She went on to attend Boise State College and earned her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree.

Nola married Robert Eugene Ridenour on August 2, 1963, in Boise, Idaho.

She loved scuba diving, water skiing, swimming, and wedding planning for her church, family, and friends. She also loved gardening.

Nola worked at St. Luke’s Hospital, St. Alphonsus Hospital, Blaine County Hospital, and various doctor’s offices throughout the years.

She was involved in various activities at the Community Christian Church in Garden City, Idaho.

Nola is survived by her son, Tyrone (Tamie) Ridenour; brothers, Steve (Jackie) Masters, and Morris (Evelyn) Masters; sisters, Donna Terry, Helen (Scott) McArthur, Betty Jo White, Bonnie (David) Tucker, and Janet Marshell. She is also survived by her foster children, Mary (Paul) Butz, Dorothy (Mark) Strong, and Larry (Loretta) Peplow, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Nola was preceded in death by her birth parents, Joseph, and Elizabeth Howard; her adoptive parents, Roy, and Eva Masters; her husband, Robert Ridenour, daughter, Paula Summers, sisters, Beverly Brisbois, Debra Georghan, Debbie Lutz, Diane Grilliot and grandson, Justin Fuller.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm noon, on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Bowman Funeral Parlor, 10254 W. Carlton Bay Dr. in Garden City. A committal service will follow at 1:00 pm, at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 N. Horseshoe Bend Rd. in Boise. A reception will follow the committal service at the American Legion Post 113, 22 W. Broadway in Meridian.

In lieu of flowers, the family is going to plant a memorial Red Maple tree at the family’s house (one of her favorite trees). Donations towards the memorial tree can be given at the reception or a PayPal or Venmo account if that makes it easier and you may add your names to the list so they can be added to the memorial plaque in her honor that will be placed by the tree.  Please check with the family for more information.
