Nicholas Sandry, 16, of Eagle, passed away on May 7, 2026, just weeks before his 17th birthday. Born in Boise on May 29, 2009, Nicholas brought joy, laughter, energy, and love into the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Nicholas was a junior at Eagle High School, where he was known for his humor, his big heart, and the kind of energy that could fill a room. He loved fiercely, laughed loudly, and created the kind of memories that family and friends will tell stories about for years to come. Whether he was spending time with friends, making people laugh, or finding new ways to stir up harmless trouble, Nicholas lived fully and unapologetically.
Nicholas found a passion through his involvement in the high school Fire Services Program and dreamed of helping others through service. Shortly before his walk of honor as an organ donor, the Eagle Fire Department swore him in and badged him as an honorary firefighter — a moment that deeply reflected the compassion, courage, and heart he carried throughout his life. Even in passing, Nicholas continued saving lives through the gift of organ donation, leaving behind a legacy of hope and selflessness that will continue to impact others for years to come.
Nicholas was a passionate collector, aficionado, and reseller of Nike shoes, always keeping up with the latest releases and appreciating not only the style, but the culture and community behind them. He was also a soccer player who loved the competition, camaraderie, and energy of the game. Outside of school and sports, Nicholas loved jet skiing, spending time outdoors, and had a passion for luxury cars — a love so strong he even named the family dog Benz. And although he was a competent downhill skier, after four runs he was ready for hot chocolate and chicken tenders. Friends and family also knew two things to be true: Nicholas loved chocolate milk and Grandpa Miller’s donuts, and absolutely could not stand cheese.
He loved spending time with his close-knit group of friends, who were like a band of brothers to him, his BFF’s since childhood Paige and Laney, or with his beloved girlfriend, Arina, who brought so much happiness to his life.
Nicholas shared an unbreakable bond with his younger brother, Rhyis. He was a mentor, protector, partner in adventure, and lifelong best friend. Of course, Rhyis also occasionally found himself participating in Nicholas’s very questionable childhood dares — many of which probably should have come with a hose nearby.
Above all else, Nicholas loved the people closest to him. His family was the center of his world, and the bond he shared with those he loved will never be forgotten.
Nicholas is survived by his parents, Joel and Kyli Jo Sandry; his brother, Rhyis Sandry; his maternal grandparents, Patrick and Bobette “Boots” Miller; paternal grandparents, Gene and Carla Sandry, and Marjorie Sandry; his godmother and aunt, Kellie Leaman and her husband, David; his godfather, Tim Willmorth and partner Danny; his special cousins, Grady and Watson Leaman, who were like brothers to him; and many other loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
From Lightning McQueen dreams to Louis Vuitton style, Nicholas lived life with energy, humor, and a personality far beyond his years.
A memorial service and celebration of Nicholas’s life will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Foothills Christian Church.
