Neil Wesley Baber
Neil Wesley Baber died peacefully on June 3, 2023 at Cascadia at Arbor Valley assisted living in Boise, Idaho after a lengthy ordeal with Parkinson’s Disease.
Neil was born on August 7, 1961 in Barberton, Ohio. Having moved with his family to Idaho in 1969, Neil spent his formative years in Burley, Salt Lake City, Utah, and then in Boise. Neil was a 1979 graduate of Capital High School.
Neil’s passions in life were art and music. Despite a variety of illnesses, he expressed his enthusiasm by developing his own creative works which he shared with friends, family and the staff of Arbor Valley. In his waning years, he could still recall the lyrics from all of the variety of musicians he grew up listening to in the 70’s. Neil was the quintessential cosmic rocker! Having accepted Jesus as his savior, Neil read the Bible avidly, he enjoyed religious programs and cherished the visits from clergy.
Neil is survived by his older brother, Brett Baber and his wife, Gayle, of Dedham, Maine and their children; Neil’s daughters, Krystal Miller Gums, her husband, Treston and their son Illias, of Mountain Home, Idaho; Elyssa Baber of Van, Texas and Ariel Baber and her daughters, Kaylee and Raelee, of Minoela, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, on Monday, August 7, 2023, at Dry Creek Cemetery, 9600 Hill Rd. in Boise.
The family extends their deep appreciation to the staff at Cascadia at Arbor Valley and St. Luke’s Hospice for the incredible care they provided to Neil.
