Nan Eleanor Gunderson

Nan Elenore Gunderson, 74, of Tipton, Indiana, passed away on July 15th, 2025 at 11:02 PM in Caldwell, Idaho at Grace Memory Care Center in Caldwell, Idaho. She was born January 25th, 1951 in Tipton Indiana to Walter Phillip Hoke and Phyllis Bernice Hinds.

Services will be at 1PM on the 14th of August 2025 at the Boise Veterans Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Eugene Gary Gunderson.

Committal will be provided by Chaplin Jose Gutierrez from All Care Hospice.

Nan Elenore Gunderson graduated Tipton High School, 27th May 1969. She graduated from Indiana University College of Arts and Sciences with a Bachelor of Arts on 13th of May 1973.

She married Eugene “Gene” Gary Gunderson on 23rd December 2004 in Boise, Idaho.

While working at Mountain States Tumor Institute (MSTI) she led the research team and was instrumental in co-authoring several scientific papers. During her tenure at MSTI she earned her certification in healthcare administration from the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Later in her life, she applied her leadership skills in the banking industry and became a Branch Manager for Idaho Central Credit Union.

Nan was actively involved in the Rotary Club and founded a nonprofit that helped establish a dog park for the City of Caldwell, Idaho.

Nan Gunderson is preceded in death by her husband Eugene Gary Gunderson and sister Jill Whelchel and is survived by Chris Gunderson, Dean Gunderson, Kim Gunderson, Carol Hoke and Bethann Whelchel.

Memorials may be given to All Care Hospice.
