Obituary

Moses Liam Briley, age 17, of Boise, Idaho, went to dance with Jesus following a sudden brain bleed on September 10, 2026.

Moses was born in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and was welcomed into his forever family by his adoptive parents, Julie and William Briley, on April 19, 2009.

Moses loved others deeply, and he loved Jesus deeply. From the depths of his soul, he loved to worship Jesus and was truly a friend of God.

Moses touched thousands of lives and made this world a better place. He lived with a pure heart, steadfast hope, unshakable faith, and selfless love. His life beautifully reflected the life of Jesus. Everyone was welcome in Moses’s presence—welcomed just as they were and loved without condition. He brought joy to broken hearts, and people knew they were loved when they were with him.

There was no selfish ambition in Moses. He was a beacon of hope and a bright light that could not be hidden. His deep belly laughs and bright smile were outward expressions of the profound joy within him.

Moses loved dancing, music, being with people, helping others, cooking, baking, and playing sports. He loved being a big brother, and he loved his family. Moses loved life.

Moses made a lasting impact throughout the Treasure Valley, including through organizations and communities such as the Treasure Valley Down Syndrome Association, Game Changers Idaho, Special Olympics Idaho, the Bishop Kelly Football Team, Boise High School, Dry Creek Community Church, and many more.

Moses is survived by his parents, Julie and William Briley; his siblings, Jonah and Bella Briley; his grandparents; aunts and uncles; cousins; and countless friends.

Moses’s Celebration of Life will be held 09/19/2026 at Rockharbor Church, 6437 N. Tree Haven Way, Meridian, Idaho 83646.

“The Moses Experience” | 9:30–10:30 a.m. The celebration will begin informally with an experiential and joyful remembrance of Moses’s life.

Celebration of Life Service | 10:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. The formal service will take place in the Auditorium. Viewing & continuation of “The Moses Experience” | 12:00–2:00 p.m.

In true Moses fashion, come as formal as you would like—or simply come as you are.

May we remember Moses by living life the way Moses did. May we be people who bring hope, joy, peace, love, and faith to a broken world.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations may be made in Moses’s honor to Game Changers Idaho at www.gamechangersidaho.org
