Mildred Arlene Bell Arnold, known fondly as Mindy, was born in Falls City, Nebraska, on August 30, 1935, and died in Boise November 27, 2023, due to cancer. She was the youngest of four children—Clarence, Alfred, Mary and Mindy—born to William and Lorene Sweetland Bell. Her parents and siblings, as well as her two adopted children, preceded her in death. She is survived by her cousin, Roger Crook, and his wife Pam, of Red Cloud, Nebraska.
Mindy resided the last two years at Morningstar Senior Living of Boise. She was grateful for her many friends and the good care she received while living there.
Mindy was most proud of her 30 years of sobriety and credits Alcoholics Anonymous with saving her life through their decades of support. Mindy was inspired by musical artist, Tina Turner, who survived and thrived after years of abuse and addiction. Like Tina Turner, Mindy took refuge in the teachings of the Buddha.
Mindy was a Friend of the Boise Unitarian Universalist Fellowship and appreciated their long support. She would also want to recognize Meals on Wheels for bringing care and nourishment to her door. Donations in her memory may be made to these organizations.
