Midgie Della Hernandez Ortiz, of Boise, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 26, 2026, at St. Alphonsus Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Midgie was a woman of deep faith whose greatest joys in life were the Lord, her family, and the simple blessings that brought people together. She found happiness in crocheting, fishing, and reading her Bible, and she devoted countless hours to loving and caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. To them, she was a constant source of love, encouragement, and strength. Her greatest pride and accomplishment was the family she helped build, and the legacy of love she leaves behind will continue for generations.

Midgie especially loved spending time outdoors fishing. She enjoyed fishing with her brother Paul & her brother-in-law, Randy, she treasured the many memories they shared together on the water. Whether fishing with family or friends, she found peace, joy, and fellowship in those moments.

Known for her generous spirit and gentle heart, Midgie was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She had a warm smile, a compassionate soul, and a kind, nurturing nature that made everyone feel welcomed and cared for. Her love was selfless, and her kindness touched countless lives. She had a special way of making each of her grandchildren feel deeply loved and important, creating treasured memories they will carry with them always.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donna and Gilbert; and by her siblings, Debbie, Gilbert, Danny, and Irene.

Midgie is lovingly survived by her children, Ethan, Lawrence, Keith, and LaDona; her adopted daughter, Mariah; her daughters-in-law, Saaj, Rachel, and Emily; siblings: Bonnie, Phillip, Shannon, Shawn, and Joy, along with her beloved 20 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren, extended family, and many dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bowman Funeral Parlor, 10254 West Carlton Bay Drive, Garden City, Idaho 83714.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Dry Creek Cemetery, 9600 North Hill Road, Boise, Idaho 83714.

Midgie's beautiful life will forever be cherished in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Though she will be deeply missed, her faith, kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
