Michael Randolph Stanton
Michael Randolph Stanton, 69, passed away in Boise, Idaho on June 28, 2021. He was born on September 4, 1951, in El Paso, Texas to Bessie Louise Lundy and Bertram Joseph Stanton II. He Graduated Washington Lee High School in 1969 and attended The United States Military Academy at West Point on a presidential nomination from President Nixon from 1969-1973. He was then commissioned in 1973 to The United States Airforce and was accepted into aircraft training. He retired from the USAF in 2001 after serving 31 years. He then began teaching at ITT Tech as an instructor and then to ACHD. Over the years he continued his education and received two additional master’s degrees. Michael married Barbara Lee LeCompte in 1973, and together they created many memories over the years.
He enjoyed many different hobbies, including, cooking, gardening, reading, traveling with his wife, teaching, and flying his drone. He was a Christian man and very humble in his faith and throughout the years he volunteered at the Vineyard Food Pantry and bookstore as well as volunteering on the ISSA Board from 2011-2021.
Michael is survived by his wife Barbara Lee Stanton, Boise, Idaho, Crystal Lynn Stanton (daughter), Boise, Idaho, Michael Edward Stanton (son), Boise, Idaho, Ashley McKenzie Critz (granddaughter), Boise, Idaho, Parker Todd Critz (grandson), Dover AFB, Delaware, Timothy Curtis Stanton (brother), James Edward Stanton (brother), Barbara Stanton Ballantyne (sister), Susan Stanton Green (sister), Christopher Joseph Stanton (brother) and Julie Stanton (sister).
He is preceded in death by Bertram Joseph Stanton II (father), Bessie Louise Lundy Stanton (mother), Sharon Victoria Arnold (sister), Patricia Ann Stanton (sister), Bertram Joseph Stanton III (brother) and Joseph Stanton (brother).
A celebration of life will be held at 5:30 pm, on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at the Owyhee Plaza, 7 th Floor Penthouse, 1109 W. Main St. in Boise. A private committal service with military honors will be held at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise.
