Michael “Mike” Bond McPeak passed away unexpectedly following open heart surgery on Jan 2, 2019.  Mike was born Aug 7, 1948 in Grangeville, Idaho.  He attended Whitney Elementary School, South Junior High, and graduated from Borah High School in 1968 along with his wife Sherry Allen

Following graduation he entered the Navy and served his country in the Vietnam War. Upon his return from Vietnam he joined the Navy reserves as a Seabee and served there until his honorable discharge in Jan 2003.

He went to work for General Tire in the early 1970’s and stayed during the transition to Commercial Tire where he was still employed after 33 years at the time of his death.

Mike always enjoyed working with cars and was a long standing member of the Idaho Chariots Car Club. He was the 200th member to join.  He restored a 1955 Buick which he enjoyed showing at local car shows.  He was in the process of restoring a 1930 Model A.

In his early years he enjoyed fishing and hunting with his dad. He was a sports fan and played and supported local Ice Hockey. He enjoyed watching Boise State, Seattle Seahawks and recently the Dallas Cowboys.  He also enjoyed Gonzaga Basketball.

He married the love of his life Sherry on November 27th, 2015 after reconnecting at a Borah alumni breakfast.  They enjoyed traveling, using the RV, boating, the races, car shows, and spending time with friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Barbara Litchfield McPeak and daughter Rene (Scott) Beagley.

He is survived by his loving wife Sherry, brothers Ron (Diane) McPeak, Orval McPeak and sister Fern (Chuck) Jackson. Step-children Shawn (Angie)

Applegate, Lisa (Tom) Morris, and Christopher (Traci) Johnson.  Nieces April (Jeremy)Jayne, Heather Kearns, and Morgan McPeak. Nephews Shane (Jodi) Jackson, and Aaron McPeak. Several grandchildren and great nieces and nephews who he loved.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 8th, 10 am at 12040 W. Amity, Boise

A Committal service with military honors will be held Friday January 18th, 3pm at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery 10100 N Horseshoe Bend Rd,  Boise
