In Loving Memory of Michael David Martenson

Michael David Martenson passed away on October 14, 2026 at the VA Medical Hospital in Boise, Idaho.

He was born on March 22, 1947, in Volga, South Dakota. Michael graduated from Shadle Park High School in Spokane, Washington, in 1966. Following graduation, he served in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Forbes Air Force Base in Kansas.

On November 4, 1972, Michael married Mildred “Midge” Martenson. In 1974, they moved from Spokane, Washington, to Boise, Idaho, where they made their home and built their life together.

Mike appreciated the simple pleasures of life and activities that brought enjoyment and friendship. He loved playing cards, from poker to pinochle, and enjoyed participating in several bowling leagues. These hobbies gave him opportunities for friendly competition, camaraderie, and time spent doing the things he loved.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Mildred “Midge” Martenson; his son, Donald “Lee”, and grandson, Bret; his daughter, Michele, and her husband, Tom; and his grandson, Thomas.

He will be remembered with love, and the memories of those who knew him will be treasured for years to come. He will be dearly missed by his family and all those who knew and loved him.
