Matthew "Matt" Christopher Stoy, 49, of Middleton, passed away March 18, 2026.
Matthew was a North End kid when the North End was still wild.
He was a Washington Warrior, a North Viking, and a Boise Brave.
He was a son, a brother, a friend, a husband, an uncle, and most importantly, a father.
Matthew will be remembered for his kind heart and genuine smile.
Matt’s son Dusk, who is also Matt’s best friend, has written words that, I believe, sum Matt up in the best of light.
“My dad was kind, generous, and a true provider. He always made sure I had a roof over my head and everything I needed. He worked hard every day to take care of me. Throughout my life, I watched him dedicate himself to his work as a sprinkler repairman by day and a rock star by night. He played in many bands over the years and was an incredibly talented guitarist and musician. I remember my friends coming over and being amazed as they listened to him play. My dad wasn’t just there for me – he was like a second father to many of my friends, especially those who didn’t have a dad in their lives. He had a way of making people feel supported and cared for. He loved camping, fishing, and traveling, especially to places nearby since he preferred not to drive too far.
He was always willing to help anyone in need, whether it was offering someone a place to stay or doing labor for little or no cost. He gave what he could without hesitation. He wanted others to experience the kind of support and guidance a father figure provides, and that has left a lasting impact on me.
He influenced me to be kind, be myself, and to not judge others. It was very important to him that I treat people with understanding and respect, and that is something I will carry with me forever.
One of my favorite memories with my dad was the Lady Gaga concert we went to in 2017. It was one of the best trips of my life – it helped me find myself and brought us closer together.
My dad lived a fun, wild, and adventurous life. He always reminded me to live life like there is no tomorrow. I will deeply miss having him in my life. I loved him so much. He was an incredible dad and a truly good person.”
