Matthew Gregory Kensler

May 8, 1998 — Aug 21, 2026

Matthew Gregory Kensler, 28, passed away on August 21, 2026, in Meridian Idaho, leaving behind a family and friends who loved him deeply.

Born on May 8, 1998, in Woodland, California, Matthew was the youngest son of Tammi and Greg Kensler. He was a beloved father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend whose presence brought laughter, adventure, and unforgettable memories to those fortunate enough to know him.

Matthew found joy in life's simple pleasures. Since childhood, spaghetti had always been his favorite meal. He loved spending time outdoors, especially camping and exploring the Idaho City area on his motorcycle. Whether enjoying the quiet beauty of nature or the freedom of the open road, Matthew felt most at home when he was surrounded by the outdoors.

Matthew also enjoyed playing video games, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends. Growing up, he looked forward to attending Boise State football games and tailgate parties, as well as attending several bowl games that created lifelong memories. One of Matthew’s closest friend and companion was his dog Molly. Molly loved pulling Matthew on the skateboard, taking long walks or just laying with him watching the television.

Music was an important part of Matthew's life and the memories he shared with those closest to him. One of his brother Christopher's favorite memories was a road trip from Boise to Reno when they listened to the same Nickelback CD nearly the entire drive. It became one of those stories that would be retold over the years, bringing smiles and laughter to the family.

Though Matthew's life was far too short, the impact he made cannot be measured in years. He will be remembered for the moments shared around campfires, the miles traveled on open roads, the music that filled long drives, the laughter he inspired, and the love he gave to family and friends.

Matthew's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Every familiar song, every mountain road, every football game day, and every cherished family gathering will serve as a reminder of the special place he holds in their lives. A livestream of the memorial gathering will begin at 11:00 am.
