Marguerite “Peggy” Roeder went home on 3-05-2022 to be with our Lord and Savior.

Born on November 25 th , 1938, in Sioux City, Iowa to the late William and Beatrice Roeder. She was the middle of six children. Marlene, Richard (deceased), Peggy, Tim, BeaAnn and Michael.

As a family, they settled in Tracy, Minnesota. Growing up, Peggy was known to be caring, confident and a jokester. She met the love of her life, Robert Gempler in 1953 at Rexall Drug store having a double scoop of ice cream, she was only 15. Well, it was love at first sight for both of them. Soon after their courtship and many ice-cream scoops later, they married and had 4 loving children.

In 1965, they took a leap of faith and moved to the City of Trees, Boise, Idaho.

The young Gempler family was full and busy with 4 children, cousins and the neighborhood kids. Her home was filled with love, compassion and the smell of cookies to die for. She loved to cook, bake, and garden. She was famous for her Cinnamon rolls and Boiled Raisin Cake by Bob and the family in the west Ada County. If she wasn’t baking, she was in the garden growing love.

Once an empty nester, Peggy worked at Boise state and also hostess at Perkins, where you could always count on a great conversation and sharing in a glass of Pepsi.

She passed on to her children her perpetual love of the Lord. She loved fiercely and her Catholic faith never wavered.

Besides her love of gardening and baking, she found a new love in miniature poodles.

Her new children, although she never had a favorite to speak of, Charlie Boy was known by all. Peggy was fierce, strong, stubborn, extremely loving and forgiving. We will miss her dearly.

She is survived by her 4 children, Lee, David (Venetia), Christopher (Christa) and Lori.

Her 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Though her time has ended, her legacy lives on thru her children.

“Love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, your soul and with all your strength.”
