Margaret Rose (Aeschbacher) Carroll was born May 19, 1942 in Black River Falls, Wisconsin to Neva and Rudolf Aeschbacher. Margaret grew up on a farm in Humbird, a small town in southwestern Wisconsin.

Margaret met Philip Gregory Carroll and they soon decided they wanted to spend their lives together. About to ship out to Camp Darby, Livorno, Italy, Phil decided to get a three-day pass and convinced Margaret to put together a church wedding. Fortuitously, Margaret already had a lot of plans in place. Of course there were a few bumps in the road—for example, the judge that had to sign off on the shortened waiting period was not in his office, but fishing on Lake Arbutus. All turned out well as nothing could stop Cupid. The twenty months they spent in Livorno, by Pisa, were wonderful. The two visited many countries, made wonderful friends, and best of all brought home a little “bambino” Gregory William.

The couple lived for a time in Lombard, Illinois; Kenner, Louisiana; Anaheim, California; and Califon, New Jersey. Later, they moved to Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, where they put their three children through college at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Margaret worked for many years at Marian High School as a receptionist. Margaret loved to sew, creating many Christmas ornaments and other beautiful crafted goods. While in Michigan she started her own business, Just For You, selling some of her creations at local craft shows.

Finally, Phil and Margaret moved to Eagle, Idaho, where Margaret worked for the Boise City Arts Commission, which placed public art around the city including the airport. Retirement was terrific in Idaho, with so much to see and do. Margaret spent many years volunteering with the Southern Comfort Gaited Horse Club and enjoying the Philharmonic Sympathy & Orchestra. After Phil passed away in 2021, Margaret moved to Morningstar Senior Living in Boise, where she became friends with the residents and staff.

Margaret passed away on August 11th from breast cancer. She is survived by her son Gregory, Canton, Michigan; son Timothy, Sunnyvale, California; and daughter Susan, Sterling Heights, Michigan. A service for friends and family will be held on September 3rd. She will be buried at Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, next to her husband.
