Margaret Marie Schmitz (Estey) passed away peacefully in Eagle, Idaho on October 9, 2024 with family by her side. Margaret was born in Omaha, Nebraska on May 9, 1948 to John and Delores Estey. She was the 1st of four children. After graduating from Mercy High School in 1966, she worked as a nurse’s aid at an Omaha hospital. She also worked at the children’s hospital in Omaha.  In May of 1969, she married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Scmitz. They raised four children together. In 1988, Bob’s job with Albertson’s supermarkets took the family to Boise, Idaho. But Margaret and Bob never forgot their Cornhusker roots and would remain devoted fans of the Big Red (University of Nebraska). Margaret worked as a daycare provider in Boise. She loved working with children. But her family was the most important thing in her life. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her younger sister (Susan Estey Scheerer). She is survived by her sister (Mary Van De Kreeke Estey), Her brother (John Estey), Her children (Michelle Hannaman, Nicole Fraser, Christopher Schmitz and Danielle Fredericks) as well as her five grandchildren.
