Madie Lyn De Santis, 82, of Meridian, Idaho passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026.
She is survived by her two sons, Benje and Tony; her daughters-in-law, Jeannette and Mary; her grandchildren, Tatiana, Vanessa, Camillo, Ella, Leo, Ava, and Giuliana; her great-grandchildren, Dominic, Damien, Diego, and Benicio; her niece, Cheryl; her cousin, Vada; and extended family members and dear friends.
Madie was born on December 4, 1943 and grew up in a farming community in Osborne, Kansas, where she developed a deep love for animals and for farm life. She especially loved horses—an affection that stayed with her throughout her life. Early on, Madie survived several harrowing events, including a fall into a well and contracting polio—testaments to her strength and perseverance even as a child.
She was an excellent student with impeccable handwriting. At Osborne Rural High School, she was a cheerleader, class secretary, homecoming queen, and an active member of Student Council, Pep Club, Mixed Chorus, Band, Dance Band, FHA, and the Kansas Association for Youth-Kayettes. Madie was widely known as a kind, popular, and well-liked student.
She attended Kansas Wesleyan University for a short time and later entered the Ashbury Hospital Nursing School Program, where she worked diligently and took pride in her education. Madie eventually moved to California and was married and started a family. Though she did not complete nursing school, her strong work ethic carried into a long career in revenue cycle management for an orthopedic surgeon’s office.
Early in her career one physician wrote of her: “She has worked at Roberts Medical Group as a Medicare Secretary. I found her to be extremely knowledgeable, hardworking, reliable, and uncomplaining. In addition, she has a pleasant personality and is conscientious. In conclusion, it gives me great pleasure to give Madie my highest personal recommendation.”
These words—knowledgeable, hardworking, reliable, uncomplaining, conscientious, and pleasant—truly describe the way Madie lived her life.
She instilled a strong work ethic in her sons and grandchildren, one that continues to guide us today. Madie played an active role in her grandchildren’s lives, supporting their dreams and helping care for them when they were young. Her love and influence shaped us all into better people.
In recent years, Madie faced significant health challenges. Yet through it all, she remained steadfast in her love for the Lord and for her family. She lived as a true example of Christian faith, showing love and compassion, humility, and unwavering trust in Jesus Christ.
Madie was a humble and selfless person who consistently put the needs of others before her own—not only her family, but anyone she could help. No matter the hardship, she always found a way to serve others.
She was a strong yet tender matriarch who overcame many obstacles, all while creating a loving and nurturing home for her family. She credited everything to her faith in God and taught us that faith and love of family are what truly matter.
Madie will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her faith, her kindness, and the love she shared so freely. We take comfort in knowing she is now with our Heavenly Father and reunited with loved ones who have gone before her.
Having celebrated her life and the many blessings we received through her example, we now commit her body to the earth and her soul to God, whom she faithfully served. We go our own way with the assurance that we will meet again.
In remembrance of Madie please pray the Lord’s Prayer.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with us all. May His Spirit guide and teach us, and may we live in faith and love, reflecting Madie’s lasting influence in our lives.
Amen.
