On Wednesday, January 3 rd , 2024, Lyle Michael Pinkley, loving husband and devoted father of 3 children, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of his Lord and savior Jesus Christ.  He was 86 years old.

Mike was born in Los Angeles, California on November 25 th , 1937 to Price and Ida Pinkley.  He would be their only child.  He grew up  and would frequently be on Hollywood movie sets and would even have his time on film.  He would attend boarding schools as a young child and spent his high school years at Alhambra High.  Not only a good student but Mike was a 3yr letterman on the football team as well as track.  His interests would soon lead him to enlisting in the Navy in the fall of 1956.  After a few years in the service, Mike would meet the love of his life, Viola Yarbrough.  After a short time, they would be united in marriage on September 14 th , 1962.  After 12 years in the Navy, in the fall of 1968, Mike moved the family from San Diego to Portland Oregon and went to work for Pacific Northwest Bell.  This is where the family would live for the next 20 years.  Mike loved providing for his family and always lending a hand to someone in need.  In the late 60’s, Mike made a decision to follow the Lord and the family followed in his footsteps.  Church was a major part of the family’s life, and he made sure that the family would be there as long as the doors were open.  He was a generous giver in so many ways.  He would give of his time, talent, and finances endlessly.  Mike went back into the National Guard to complete and receive full military honors.  He absolutely loved serving God and his country.  Mike loved to be outdoors, fishing, hunting, sightseeing, or exploring, as long as the family was together to experience the adventure.  Always a photographer at heart, be it old school 8mm or countless slides he loved to capture the moment.  His spirit and example live on through so many people that he was able to touch and influence.
