With deep sadness, we share the passing of our beloved Lu Frayne Stinnett, age 83, of Boise, Idaho, who peacefully left us on March 10, 2025. Lu Frayne was born on July 30, 1941, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Ione Virginia Hoffstatter and Melbert Leon Poirier. She was raised in Bloomer, Wisconsin with most of her adult life being spent in Anchorage, Alaska, Green Valley, Arizona and Boise, Idaho.
Lu Frayne graduated from Bloomer High School in 1959 and went on to earn her degree in Dental Hygiene from Normandale Community College in 1974. She worked as a Dental Hygienist in Anchorage, Alaska, Pocatello and Boise Idaho, touching the lives of many with her gentle care.
In 1960, she married Dale Kellerman and together they had two sons. Their first son, Kevin Dale Kellerman, born on December 10, 1960, tragically passed away on July 15,1979. Their second son, Jeffry Melbert Kellerman, born on September 30, 1964, also preceded her in death passing away February 3, 2019. Their memories she held dear and their love stayed with her always.
In 1981, Lu Frayne met the love of her life, George Clyde Stinnett. Their bond grew stronger over the years, and they married on July 13, 1997, enjoying 44 years of love and companionship.
Lu Frayne’s heart overflowed with compassion. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including reading, walking, hiking, and cross-country skiing. Above all, she loved helping others. Her unwavering belief in the goodness of people, was evident in every interaction. She often said, “No matter how bad a person, there is always some good in them.” She gave freely of her time, volunteering at animal shelters, the Red Cross, and with Project Concern, always putting others before herself. Lu Frayne also had a strong Christian faith, having been raised Lutheran, and spent time teaching Sunday School during her younger years.
Lu Frayne’s memory will live on in the hearts of her devoted husband, her loving brothers, Andre Poirier of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Terry Poirier of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her cherished granddaughter, Jennifer Kellerman of Tyler, Texas; stepchildren, Andrea Burbank of WA, and David Stinnett of WA and her step-grandchildren, Zach Pagel of AK, Julia Pagel of MS, Sierra Burbank of WA, and Ellie Burbank of WA.
Her kindness, love, and faith will be missed but never forgotten.
