Lorraine Marie (Porteous) Arnold was born on February 2, 1940 to Richard Dall Porteous, a Merchant Marine and Evelyn Marie Porteous, who worked in the shipyards during the war effort. Lorraine spent a lot of time with her Grandmother Lala and her Aunt Sue while her parents supported the war efforts.

In 1958 Lorraine had her first child, a son named Timothy, Shelli would follow in 1960 and Susan in 1962, Each grew up to have families of their own.

5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter and 9 great grandchildren, see photo’s for all their names.

In 1972 Lorraine met, who was to become the love of her life, Gilbert G. Arnold, it took her 3 months to agree to go on a date with him! For him it was love at first sight! They were inseparable from that day forward. They Loved to go on bye-byes to the coast or to the redwoods any chance they could.

In 2019 Lorraine became ill and Gilby took care of her for the next 3 years by himself, until they came to live in Idaho with Shelli. Sadly dementia took over Lorraine’s memory and she soon lost her battle with liver disease on January 7, 2022.

Surrounded by her loving husband Gilbert, her daughter Susan & her son Michael, due to unforeseen circumstances Susan’s youngest son Nicholas could not be here in person, he FaceTimed Noni every chance he could to tell her he loved her.

Lorraine’s eldest daughter Shelli and her granddaughter Samantha and her husband Kade were also present. Lorraine’s niece Lisa Rose and her daughter Harmony and Harmony’s son Rio also came to see her. Her Aunt Sue and cousin Sis constantly checked in on them to see if there was anything they needed.

Lorraine was loved by many for her sweet soul and kind heart.
