Leslie (Les) Wilbur Atwood, a man who was known for the ability to fix almost anything, passed away at his home on January 29, 2025. Les was born in American Fork, UT on April 17,1944.
Les was a dedicated husband to Linda for 40 years, a loving father, and adored by his grandchildren and step-grandchildren. He spent countless hours teaching, guiding, and often comforting his 15 grandchildren. More than being just a gentleman, Les was recognized by all as being a gentle man. He was known for his quick wit and his kind and loving heart.
Les served honorably as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force as a crew chief on Bell UH-1 “Huey” helicopters and was based at Malmstrom AFB from 1966-1971. His experience in the Air Force created a life-long love of aircraft and air shows.
Les’ creative outlet was crafting beautiful ceramics. He also loved guns and was a collector of knives and passed these passions onto many of his grandchildren.
Les is survived by his wife Linda Dorothy Roberts and sons, Shaun L Atwood of Draper, UT, Gaylan Ray Atwood of Draper. UT and Wayne Tyson and daughter-in-law Vickie Atwood of West Jordan, UT. Les proudly had 4 stepdaughters, 2 grandchildren, and 13 step-grandchildren. Les will be joining his parents, his son Jeremy Scott Atwood, and his stepson Todd Theodore Jorgensen in heaven.
A public viewing will be held, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm, Monday, February 3, 2025 at Bowman Funeral Parlor, 10254 W. Carlton Bay Dr., Garden City, Idaho.
A graveside service will be held, 2:00 pm, Monday, February 3, 2024 at Dry Creek Cemetery, 9600 Hill Rd., Boise, Idaho.
