Leslie "Les" James Carson III, 78 of Meridian, passed away on March 22, 2026 at home. It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Leslie James Carson, III on Sunday, March 22, 2026. He passed away while resting comfortably at home after a lengthy illness in Meridian, Idaho, surrounded by family.

He was 78 years young, with a positive attitude and a great sense of humor up until the end. Les was born on August 29,1947 in King City, California, the only son of Leslie J Carson, Jr, and Leatha M. Carson. As a child he lived abroad wherever his father, an Air Force pilot, was stationed. He graduated from Vacaville High School in 1965, then married Amelia, his high school sweetheart, in 1967.

He worked for Pacific Gas & Electric for 37 years, primarily as an electrician working with high voltage. He retired in 2004 and traveled the world with Amelia, family, and friends.

Les loved sports. He played in many rec leagues over the years, explored golf courses in at least six countries (recording four holes-in-one!), and enjoyed watching SF Giants and 49ers games.

In 2015 he and Amelia moved to Idaho, where they settled in a golf community and made many wonderful new friends. He could often be found driving his golf cart through the neighborhood looking for people to greet.

Les was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, cousin, uncle, and friend to many, many people. He is survived by his cherished wife of 58 years, Amelia, three children and their spouses, seven grandchildren, and two grandchildren-in-law. He will be missed immensely.
