Leonard Guy Meyer, 81, of Meridian, passed away January 8, 2025. Leonard Guy Meyer was born on September 4th, 1943 in Hillsboro, OR.
Leonard was raised in Royal City, Washington, working on his parents farm and graduating from Othello High School in 1961. Soon after graduating he joined the United States Air Force, serving his country during the Vietnam War. Eventually Leonard settled back in Royal City to work and raise his family. After a long career as a ditch rider and large equipment operator for the Quincy Columbia Basin Irrigation District, he retired and pursued his love of flying. He received his pilot’s license and worked at Royal Flying Service helping out with the local crop-dusters.
Leonard enjoyed morning coffee at Spud’s with “the guys.” In 2021, after some health challenges, he moved to Boise, Idaho to be closer to family.
On January 8th, 2025 Leonard passed away peacefully in his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Elmer Meyer and his brother Dennis Meyer. He is survived by his 3 daughters; Crystal Mcclain, Kristi Dyer, Myndie Neal, his brother Larry Meyer and six grandchildren.
A committal service will be held, 10:00 am, Friday, January 31, 2025 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 Horseshoe Bend Rd., Boise, Idaho.
