Lee Anne Bundesen
Lee Anne Bundesen died June 7, 2024 in her home in Eagle, Idaho surrounded by loved ones. She was 79 years old. She died of metastatic cancer.
Lee Anne was born Sharon Lee Anne Mickle to Kathryn E. Mickle and Leon Allen Mickle on June 26, 1945 in Portland, Oregon. She is survived by her husband David Bundesen, Eagle, ID, her sister Leonna Gray (Stan), Portland, OR, her daughter Missa Stotler (Brian), Concord, CA.
She is also survived by 3 granddaughters, Mikayla Stotler & Aislynn Stotler, Boise, ID and Breanna Bergevin (Lance), Mountain Home, ID and their son Theo. She is also survived two nieces Regan (George) Okulitch, Oak Grove, OR and Brittany (Chris) Contompasis, Portland, OR.
She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Portland, Oregon. She also attended Portland State University, Portland, Oregon.
Lee Anne had a great love of Modern Dance, which she pursued in both high school and college. It was an abiding love of hers for the rest of her life. She was a fan of the Ballet attending ballets in San Francisco and Boise.
After college, she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where she had a long successful career designing and selling business forms as well as newspaper advertising. She went to work in the printing business for Tully Whir, Co. where she remained for 30 years. During that time, she also volunteered for the DMIA (Document Management Industry Association). Her service was exemplary and she was awarded the distinguished Volunteer of the Year Commendation.
Lee Anne married the love of her life, David Laurence Bundesen in 1999 after meeting on a blind date through a local church singles group. This year, they celebrated 25 years of marriage.
They lived in Benicia, CA for 18 years. During that time, Lee Anne was extremely active with the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Benicia.
While at St. Paul’s, she served as Senior Warden. She also ran the Grateful, Glad and Giving program. She founded and ran the Friday Afternoon Activities for Kids Program. She served two terms on Vestry. She served as Shepard to Bishop Megan Traquair, the new Bishop of Northern California. She was also a docent at St. Paul’s.
Lee Anne and David moved to Idaho in 2020 where they made many friends. She became involved with St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Emmett, ID after they moved to Idaho.
Lee Anne had a love of cooking for friends and family. Her Pear Salad was legendary. She also loved interior design and assisted the Reverend Jeanne Forte of St. Paul’s in decorating her home as well as refurbishing the Library at St. Paul’s Benicia.
She was a woman who was intelligent and always had a welcoming smile on her face. She was loved and respected by all she came in contact with. She will be greatly missed.
