Layne Joseph Welch

December 6, 2002 — December 29, 2025

Boise

It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Layne Welch, a remarkable young man of 23, who left this world on December 29, 2025. His incredible personality and sense of humor brought immense joy to everyone who knew him.

Born in Seattle, Washington, on December 6, 2002, Layne's journey took him through northern Idaho and Winnemucca, Nevada, before he settled in Boise, Idaho. He was a graduate of Albert M. Lowry High School in Winnemucca. Following graduation, Layne attended Boise State University, where he formed many deep and lasting friendships that he cherished.

Layne's personality was truly one of a kind. He had a profound love for the outdoors and was a true steward of the natural world, finding beauty in every landscape he explored. He cherished weekends spent exploring the great outdoors, and fishing and hunting with his family. His passions also included MMA and football. His family will fondly remember him passionately cheering on his beloved Denver and Boise State Broncos.

An eager and dedicated worker, Layne's strong work ethic shone through in everything he did. He worked alongside his sister and brother-in-law at their local brewery for several years before starting as a crane rigger with Bragg Crane in 2024.

Layne will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his parents, Lon and Stacy Welch of Nampa; his sister, Cortni Welch Nader; his brother-in-law, Matthew Nader; and his beloved nephew, Beau Nader, all of Boise. He also leaves behind countless aunts, uncles, and cousins whom he loved dearly.

Layne was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kathy Welch Cote, Norman Welch Sr., Terry Beyl, and Brenda Beyl Stellmach.

A ceremony celebrating Layne's life will be held 1:00 pm, Friday, January 9, 2026 at Bowman Funeral Parlor, located at 10254 W. Carlton Bay Drive, Garden City, Idaho.

Immediately following the service, Layne's parents will host a celebration of his life at Loose Screw Brewery Downtown, 105 E. Carlton Ave, Meridian, Idaho.

Layne’s kind heart made a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him, and the memory of his bright spirit will remain with us always.
