Larry Gene Mendenhall
Larry was born on April 16, 1939 in Weiser Idaho. He died quietly at home on September 27, 2024.
Larry moved to Burley, Idaho in 1952. He quickly realized the cute girl down the street was his soul mate. He married DeAnn Cannell on January 12, 1956 and they remained together over 68 years, until he passed. They loved and lived an exciting, fulfilling life together.
They had five children; Debbie (Chris) Jansen; Bob Mendenhall; Christie (Curtis) Mitchell; Kevin Mendenhall; Ron (Dina) Mendenhall. Eleven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Larry has two sisters, Nancy Radakovich and Linda Durrant.
Larry was preceeded in death by his son Bob Mendenhall, grandsons Jesse Mitchell and Daniel Mendenhall.
Larry supported his young family by working at Safeway stores throughout Idaho until 1969, when he was offered a job with a new company. He accepted the offer and so began his career With Warehouse Foods (Winco Foods). He loved his new company and the people he worked with. With hard work and dedication, the company was more successful that they could have imagined. He was loved and respected by the employees.
Larry was a very honest and hard- working man. He was dedicated to his family and extremely GENEROUS. He had an amazing smart ass, funnier than hell, quick witted attitude.
Here’s to you Dad, you were one of a kind, self- made man who loved his family and did everything he could, to help anyone he could. God doesn’t make them any better.
The family would like to thank Enhabit Hospice Care for their service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor of Garden City.
