Kevin Charles Rhead, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and generosity that will be cherished by all who knew him. Born on February 27, 1967, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Raeola Jensen and Douglas Rhead, Kevin was the youngest of ten children, and his parents often joked they had finally found their perfect child.
Kevin is survived by his loving partner, Lois Peterson, and his four adored sons: Jordan (Kai), Ethan, Garrett (Claudia), and Kaden (Maddi). He also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren, as well as those he claimed as children and grandchildren, Mandi (Ty) and their children, Donna and her children, Colton, Hannah and her son, and numerous other cherished family members and friends whom he embraced as his extended family. Kevin had a special way of making those around him feel loved and included, and many came to him affectionately calling him dad, grandpa, and papa.
Residing in Pocatello, American Falls, and Pingree, Idaho, Kevin served his community for many years with heartfelt dedication at the Post Office, culminating in his role as Post Master in Pingree, Ririe, and Homedale. He retired recently after a complicated foot surgery, leaving behind a legacy of service and kindness.
Kevin’s passions included spending quality time with family and friends, indulging in thrilling concerts alongside Lois, cheering on his favorite team, the Minnesota Vikings, and pursuing his love for woodworking. He had an extraordinary gift for making every gathering delightful with his larger-than-life personality, his calm presence, and his ability to listen with an open heart. Those who knew him understood that he was a wellspring of practical wisdom and support.
Preceded in death by his parents, brother Randy, and niece Tonya Anderson, Kevin leaves behind eight siblings: Ron, Kent, Linda Rasmussen, Sandra Robbins, Richard, Stephen, Deborah, and Ronda Johnson, along with countless nieces and nephews who will carry his spirit forward.
The impact of Kevin’s kindness and generosity knows no bounds, and the void left by his absence will be deeply felt across the community and in his family.
