In Loving Memory of Kenneth Erving Biberston
Kenneth Erving Biberston, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and faithful servant of Jesus Christ, returned home on August 8, 2026, at the age of 86. He was born on July 30, 1940, in South Gate, California, to Kenneth and Ruth Biberston.
Ken lived a life of faith, service, hard work, family, and—perhaps just as importantly—a whole lot of fun. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a playful, silly side that brought laughter to those around him. He loved to joke, tease, and find humor in everyday life. His family and friends will remember not only the wisdom he shared, but also the funny things he said, the unexpected moments that made everyone laugh, and the mischievous twinkle that could often be found in his eyes. He knew that life was meant to be taken seriously when necessary, but never so seriously that you couldn’t have a little fun along the way.
Ken was a lifelong and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he faithfully served in many callings. His service included being a Scoutmaster, bishop, member of the High Council, and many callings in between. He was honored to serve as the first bishop in Kapaʻa, Kauai. Through each of these responsibilities, Ken gave generously of his time, talents, and heart, touching the lives of countless people.
Ken and his adored wife, Donna, also served a mission together in Zimbabwe. Their willingness to leave home and serve others was a reflection of their deep faith and love for the gospel. Ken found joy in serving people, building relationships, and sharing his testimony and his sense of humor wherever he went.
Professionally, Ken was a general contractor. He owned and operated his own construction business for many years, building not only custom homes and commercial projects, but also a reputation for hard work, integrity, and dedication. He was a hard worker who took pride in his craft, solving problems, getting things done, and sharing his knowledge with others. Later in his career, he joined an international construction company, where he continued to share his experience until his retirement.
Above all, his greatest accomplishment was his family. Ken was a devoted husband and father who loved watching his family grow. He is survived by his wife, Donna, his eight children, 16 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. His family will miss his guidance, his stories, his laughter, his teasing, and all of the little things that made him uniquely Ken.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Ruth Biberston; his brother, Dennis Biberston; and a beloved granddaughter, Raelyn Briann.
Ken leaves behind a legacy of steadfast faith, his willingness to serve, his strong work ethic, laughter and most importantly a family he loved. He taught by example that you can work hard and serve faithfully while still finding plenty of reasons to laugh. Those who knew him will carry his example with them, along with countless memories of the funny, silly, loving man he was.
He may have returned home, but his example and laughter he brought into the lives of those who loved him, will remain with his family forever.
