Keith Marvin Hunter
Keith Marvin Hunter, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, returned to his Heavenly Father and loved ones on Thursday, May 22, 2025.
Keith was born on August 27th, 1942 in Ogden, Utah to Marvin Hunter and Lois Heslop Hunter. He was raised in the Bay Area of California, along with his older brother, Jerry.
He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Netherlands from 1961-1964. After returning from his mission, he met his future wife, Rosalee Dixon Hawkes at a Church activity. They were married in the Oakland California temple on January 25, 1966.
Keith worked for the FBI as a clerk while attending San Francisco State College, graduating in 1968 with a degree in sociology. Upon graduation, he became a special agent for the FBI. His first assignment with the Bureau was in Texas, followed by Missouri, and finally Boise, Idaho, where he continued with the FBI until retiring in 1994 after 30 years of service.
Keith was a devoted dad and enjoyed spending time with Rosalee, his children, and grandchildren, playing golf, skiing, waterskiing, playing games, and sharing his love of trains. He loved watching football and cheering for Boise State.
He served faithfully over the years in various callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including Bishop, High Councilor, and Patriarch.
After his retirement, he and Rosalee served a mission for the Church on the Big Island of Hawaii. They also served for 20 years in the Boise temple as temple workers. He enjoyed traveling with Rosalee, visiting family, and spending time in Kona, Hawaii each winter, where they served as temple workers.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rosalee, his children, Bryan (Cerie), David (Geralda), Jeff (Karin), and Cindy (Clint) Reynolds, 19 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, and infant sister.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel located at 2299 N Five Mile Rd, Boise, Idaho, where a Viewing will be held prior to the service from 10:00 to 10:45 am. Interment will take place at Cloverdale Memorial Park.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor of Garden City.
