Kathy Lyn Waggoner

Kathy Lyn Waggoner, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025, in Boise, Idaho. She was born on her mother’s birthday, and passed on her father’s. She was 68 years old.
Born on April 5, 1957, Kathy lived a life defined by faith, love, and service. She was the heart of her family and the light in every room she entered, bringing warmth, humor, and deep compassion to all who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Edward (Eddie) Waggoner; her children, Melissa (Craig), Martin, and Kent (Charlotte); and her cherished grandchildren, Madison, Logan, Rhodes Lynn, and Wren Lee. She is also survived by her siblings, Tracy, Debra, and Kay. Kathy was preceded in death by her brother Steve and her parents Keneth and Elaine.
Kathy lived her life in quiet, consistent service to others. Whether playing the piano for children at church, serving for many years in the Salt Lake Temple, or ministering to the elderly, Kathy gave of herself fully and joyfully, even when her own health began to fail.
She had a deep and tender love for animals, treating them as cherished companions. Her pigs, chickens, and goats were more than farm animals—they were beloved members of her daily life, doted on with affection and care. She found joy in walking and petting her sons’ dogs and loved the companionship they brought. Her gentleness and attention extended to all living things.
Kathy possessed the purest heart, overflowing with Christlike love. She saw and cared for everyone in her life with genuine awareness and concern. Kathy’s delightful sense of humor, inquisitive spirit, and deep faith inspired all who had the blessing of knowing her. She loved to sing, dance, and move, expressing her joy in life through every step.
Kathy’s legacy is one of unwavering discipleship. Her testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life, and she served as He would have by loving, lifting, and leading by quiet example. Her influence lives on in her children, grandchildren, and in all whose lives were touched by her kindness.
A funeral service will be held, 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 23, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3700 S. Maple Grove Rd., Boise, Idaho. A private family committal service will be held at Morris Hill Cemetery, Boise, Idaho.
