Kathleen L. Andregg
Our beloved sister, Kathy Andregg, lost her short battle with cancer on May 10, 2023.
Kathy was born on June 14, 1950, in Boise, Idaho, to Paul and Ella Andregg. Kathy graduated from Boise State and her professional career started there in the Administration Office. She then worked for Idaho Land and Appraisal, Idaho Probation and Parole and finished her working career and retired with Morrison Knudsen/Washington Group.
She lived in Boise her entire life but was able to travel and see a lot of the country and the world. She was on the lookout for her Mountie when her sister (Jacque) and her brother-in-law (Brad) took her and our mom to Toronto and Niagara Falls and watched her favorite Yankee team in the old Yankee Stadium. She made the most of all of her trips – from looking for moose everywhere in Alaska to avoiding the haggis when she and mom went to Scotland (rumor has it she did manage to peek under a kilt on that trip.)
Those that knew Kathy were truly in for a treat when she started telling one of her stories. She would have everyone laughing in a matter of moments. We all thought that she missed her calling in life by not being a writer as she could almost paint a picture for you in her letters.
Kathy loved all animals but especially her cats and her dogs. She so enjoyed dressing them up and showing them off. Those little four-legged ones had the most incredible life and were loved every minute they were with her.
One of the amazing things about Kathy was her HUGE circle of friends and neighbors. She touched so many people in her life, which was so obvious when she got sick. She was such a giving and caring person and oh how she loved to give. She didn’t like to do emails – she preferred writing letters and cards and how lucky those recipients were!
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Paul and her mother, Ella. Kathy is survived by her sister Jacque (Brad) Mink of Dallas, Texas; her sister Toni Rohm of Melba, Idaho; her nephew Paul (Libby) Mink and their two children Riker and J.B. of Denver, Colorado
Besides her love for her family, pets and friends – there was her love for all things Elvis. For those that have been in her home, you all know that Graceland doesn’t hold a candle to Kathy’s collection. And so, in true Elvis fashion, sadly, Kathy has left the building.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Dry Creek Cemetery, 9600 Hill Rd. in Boise.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Kathy’s name be made the the Idaho Human Society: https://idahohumanesociety.org/ Or a charity of your choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor of Garden City.
