Kathleen (“Kathy”) Mullen passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, July 13 th , 2024, after a long battle with multiple serious health issues.

Kathleen Becar Mullen was born July 11 th , 1951, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She loved to share fond memories of the fun and love that filled her childhood in Southern California surrounded by her parents, Ted & Margene Pumphrey, along with her five siblings Mike Becar, Sue Flanagan, Steve Pumphrey, Todd Pumphrey, and Angela Carter.

In 1975 she left the beaches of California and moved to Idaho where she met and married Roy Mullen. Together they shared three children, Erica York, Lee Mullen, & Dane Mullen.  They moved to New Meadows, Idaho in 1984 where they raised their children in the mountains of Idaho.  She enjoyed white water rafting, jet skiing, cross country skiing, riding snow mobiles, golfing, swimming, and even cliff diving there.  Kathy loved Idaho and everything it offered and eventually convinced her parents to move to Idaho as well.

As the rest of her family moved to “The Valley”, she soon followed and moved to Nampa, Idaho to be closer to her children, grandkids, parents, and her brother Mike and his family.

The love of the ocean she grew up with never left her and she loved to travel anywhere there was water, but especially the ocean, claiming she was born a “water-baby”.  She even spent 3 years living full time in Los Cabo and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico before returning to Idaho once again to be close to her family.

Kathy loved being surrounded by family and friends. Her laugh and fun personality were infectious. She made friends everywhere she went, maintaining them throughout her life, including friends from high school that she was still in contact with. She always enjoyed hearing what everyone was doing and loved to hear about anywhere they had traveled. She kept up with everyone and if you ever wanted to know what someone was doing, you just called Kathy.

She loved her kids and grandkids, Kade Evans, Madison Evans, Ian Evans, Corbin Mullen, Meadow Kildow, Berkley Mullen, Noelle Mullen, & Baylee Mullen dearly and followed all their interests and activities with the same level of passion they had. Even after her health issues limited her, she maintained a special bond with each of her kids through their interests and passions; following along with all of Erica’s travels and what was next; with Lee through his basketball officiating, watching his televised games and calling him on the phone to discuss them during his travel afterwards, and Dane through his music. She attended every concert possible up until her physical limitations prevented her from doing so. Even then, she always wanted to hear about how it went and watched them on the internet if they were being live streamed.

Kathy will be remembered for all the fun activities she was always planning for everyone, her love for everyone around her, and her infectious laugh. If you ever lost Kathy in a crowd, you just needed to wait for something funny to happen so that you could locate that laugh.
