Katherine J. "Katy" Larson

Katherine Joyce (Katy) Larson, age 80, of Boise, Idaho, passed away on July 9th 2026. She was born on February 17th 1946, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Evdorus and Judith Larson.

Katy grew up in the suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota attending schools in Mound, Brooklyn Center, Hopkins and Wayzata. She had a beautiful contralto voice and enjoyed choir. She graduated valedictorian from Wayzata High School in 1964. She attended the University of Minnesota for a short time but chose not to pursue further education. She worked in the optical industry for many years. She also cared for people’s homes, offices and animals and finished her working years delivering newspapers. Katy made Boise, Idaho her home when she moved in 1976, joining her sister, Linda and husband, David and family. 10 years later, when Linda, David and family relocated to Iowa, Katy stayed and enjoyed Boise for 50 years.

Katy will be remembered as a bright, humble, quiet woman, with a fun sense of humor, kind and thankful always to those who were involved in her life. She loved to send thoughtful gifts and cards to family/friends and showed her love for her family from a distance this way. She was a very hard worker and conscientious in all she did. She had a servant’s heart.

Katy is survived by her sister Linda (David) of Carmel, Indiana, sister Beth Ann Larson of Grantsburg, Wisconsin, 4 nieces and nephews and 6 great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Evdorus and her mother, Judith.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor of Garden City.
