Kareena Lee Lyons, 88, passed away on March 17, 2023 at Foxtail Senior Living in Eagle, Idaho,  where she resided with her husband, Barton E. Lyons.

Kareena was born June 25, 1934, In Yakima, WA, the daughter of Fred and Gladys Boatman Evans. Soon after, they moved to Los Angeles CA, where they lived until moving to Burley, ID in 1944.She was very social and participated in many school activities, including baton twirling at Burley High School, where she graduated in 1952. The day after graduation she began working for Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Company, as a switchboard operator. She held various jobs with the telephone company, both in management and craft positions until she retired in 1989.

Kareena married Barton E. Lyons in the Idaho Falls Temple, in 1957. They lived in Twin Falls, Pocatello,and then Boise, ID where they resided for over 63 years. They had four children whom she was heavily involved with and supported fully throughout their childhood. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding multiple church callings, and participating in road shows, plays, and Gold and Green Balls. Kareena loved spending holidays and weekends with extended family in Burley, ID and Magic Reservoir, where they spent many hours fishing and snowmobiling. She also enjoyed floating the Boise River, golfing, taking classes at Boise State College, and watching city and church ballgames. Her hobbies included antiquing, ceramics, and painting. She was a great cook and was especially known for her Mexican food. She will be remembered for her wittiness, sense of humor, and the love she had for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Gladys Evans, Burley,ID; younger siblings, Marilyn Smith, Boise,ID and James(Jim) Evans, Rupert,ID. Survivors include her husband, Barton E Lyons, Eagle,ID; daughter, Kareena Ann(Michael) Hallmark, Boise,ID; son, Barton Fred(Sherece) Lyons, Mesa,AZ; twins: daughter, Tamara K(Rock) Didericksen, Middleton,ID and son, Thomas E.(Rebecca) Lyons, Reno,NV. They currently have 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, with 2 on the way and 2 great-great grandchildren.

An Open House and Viewing will be held Sunday, April 9, 2023 from 5pm-7pm at Bowman Funeral Parlor, 10254 W Carlton Bay Dr. Boise, ID. Graveside Services will be held the following day at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.
