Julie Anna Byrd, 54, of Boise, died May 1, 2025, after bravely facing frontotemporal dementia. Julie was surrounded by her loving friends and family.

Julie was born on January 28, 1971, to John “Ted” and Pamela Byrd.

Julie graduated from Nampa High School, class of ‘89. The moment Julie graduated, she packed her bags and left for New York City and became a nanny —showcasing her exuberant, spontaneous spirit. During high school and college, she worked for her parents at Great Western Pizza. After returning to Boise, Julie worked for the State of Idaho in juvenile corrections as a teacher for at-risk youth, dedicating her compassion to a population who needed love and support. In 2005, Julie received her Bachelor of Arts in History from Syracuse University in New York. Later in her career, she served the company of Sorenson Communications as a supervisor, leading her team with unwavering dedication for eight years.

Julie found her greatest love in the spring of 2002 when she welcomed her daughter, Asha, into the world. Julie and Asha shared a strong bond filled with unconditional love, humor, and honest conversations. Many people compared their relationship to the iconic mother-daughter duo of Gilmore Girls, a testament to their closeness and the joy they brought to each other’s lives. Julie was an amazing mother, everything she did was for her daughter, and Julie couldn’t have loved her any more than she did.

Julie’s legacy is one of strength, compassion, stubbornness, and unyielding spirit. She will be remembered for her artistic ability, fierce kindness, and her infectious laughter. Her ability to light up a room and get a party started was unprecedented. Julie always stood up for the vulnerable, fought for what she believed in and lived life with unapologetic enthusiasm.

Julie is survived by her daughter, Asha Byrd; Mother, Pamela Perry Byrd; Sisters, Terri (Brian) Hedges and Stacie (Lynn)Waite; Niece, Bailey (Shevon) Williams; Nephews, Tyler (Bret) Hedges, Brenton (Megan) Hedges, Aaron (Keegan) Hedges, Cameron Waite, Parker (Ynfiniti)Waite, Jax Waite; Great nephews and nieces, Jamal and Maliky Williams, Aevri and Jace Hedges.
