Today we are mourning Julie’s passing. Julie fought a long and courageous battle with cancer for more than 10 years, and now she is with Our Heavenly Father, returned to the company of her parents and family that preceded her in death.
Julie was born in Silver Lake, Minnesota in July 1955, to Patricia and Neil Busche. She was always a good student and excelled at whatever she put her mind to. She was an expert at crossword puzzles and loved to keep track of family members scattered about the country. At last count, I think the number of nieces and nephews she tracked approached 50, and she knew the name and birthdays of every one of them. She was always the aunt that made sure all her nieces and nephews got a present every Christmas.
She attended Moorhead State University, graduating in 1977 with a Political Science degree. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor at the University of Minnesota in 1980, passing the Minnesota bar exam that same year. During her latter years at Moorhead State she met her future husband, Patrick (Pat) Klocke at a college get together and they immediately hit it off. Pat proposed to her in the Summer of 1977, and they were married December 30th of that year, in Litchfield Minnesota. A blizzard that rolled through the town kept it interesting for all attendees who enjoyed the ceremony and then a wedding dance at the nearby Armory, dancing waltzes and polkas to the music of Wally Pikel and his band.
Julie and Pat moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where she began practicing law for several years. In June of1989 they welcome the arrival of their son, James, and following in quick succession, their daughter Carolyn in August of 1990. It was during this time that Julie felt she was happiest taking care of her two energetic kids and thus she exited the practice of law. Julie followed husband Pat to Boise Idaho in late 1992 where she lived until her passing.
Julie was always active in the community, serving as treasurer of her Boise subdivision HOA for many years, as well as several years serving as president of the Collister Neighborhood Association. Her son James married his lovely wife Laura (Welch) in 2019 in the scenic venue of Tamarack, Idaho, and in 2022 they welcomed their granddaughter, Charlotte. Julie loved Charlotte so, she was the apple of her eye. In 2024, daughter Carolyn (Carrie) married her wonderful fiancé Serguei Kossykh in the New York Finger Lakes region. Julie was so very happy to be able to attend.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents Patricia and Neil and is survived by her siblings Allan (Susan) Busche, Anthony (Beth) Busche, Charles Busche, Christine (Mark) Cummins, Hugh Busche, Susan (Todd) Klocke, James (Shelley) Busche.
Julie loved her family and friends and as she loved them, we loved her.
Julie will be interred at Dry Creek Cemetery in Boise Idaho at a later date.
