IN MEMORY OF
Juli Marie Miller
Daughter, Sister, Mother, Aunt, Grandmother and Friend
Juli Marie Miller was born in Boise, Idaho on April 26, 1959, to Clarence and Wanda Miller. She was raised and educated in Boise where she graduated from Borah High School in 1978. Years later Juli went on to attend college and graduated in 1993 from Boise State University with a B.A. degree in Education and participated in many workshops, seminars and classes to learn all she could about children and young adults with special needs and disabilities.
Juli’s life was fairly normal until the day after her 18th birthday when she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Between 1977 and 1989 she had 5 surgeries to remove tumors, had complications due to a staph infection in her head and skull reconstruction.
Juli had a great desire to get married but never did. Although she wasn’t married, she had many children. Starting on her birthday in 1994 she began taking foster children into her home. On November 30th, 1998, Juli was given one of life’s greatest gifts when she adopted her daughter, Krystal Sara Miller. Through the years many children came into Juli’s home and became a part of her family. Although they all had and loved their birth families, Juli considered them her children too and tried to treat them as such.
Juli worked in a variety of fields but spent a large part of her life working with children and young adults within the Boise School District along with different foster care programs, and camps for those with cancer and muscular dystrophy. For the last 7 years, she worked as compliance manager at BCPM HOA Community Management where she developed deep friendships with Tonya Mitchell and Donna Reeve.
Juli collected kaleidoscopes and had a large variety of them. She loved to do arts and crafts and shared this with all her children. She enjoyed many activities with the kids, especially going to the mountains and ‘exploring’, but her favorite place to go was Table Rock to watch the sun set.
Juli left this earth on September 6, 2025, and hoped to be reunited with family and friends who left before her. Survivors include her daughter and spouse, Krystal and Triss Gums of Mountain Home, Idaho, her brother and sister-in-law, Steve Miller and Kate Delgado-Miller, of Boise, Idaho, sister and brother-in-law, Ginny and Alan MacAnespie of Bel Air, Maryland; grandson Koda Gums; nieces Kimberly Miller and her husband Mike Wells, Elizabeth and Alayna MacAnespie; nephew Michael Hanby and his wife Samantha Strenge, nephew Adam Hanby and his wife Mandy; great-nieces Maggie Wells, and Paige, Kenna and Josslyn Hanby. Several aunts, cousins and friends also survive Juli.
Juli’s father and mother preceded her in death along with her maternal and paternal grandparents, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Miss Me – But Let Me Go
When I come to the end of the road,
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom filled room,
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not too long,
And not with your head held low,
Remember the things we once shared,
Miss me, but let me go!
