Judith (Judy) Lucille Walters, 87, of Meridian, ID, passed on Dec. 10, 2022.

She was born Sept. 4, 1935 in Hebbronville, Texas to Irvin and Della Wasson. She had two siblings, Wayne and Ann, all preceding her in death.

A simple burial service will be held graveside at Meridian Cemetery, 895 E. Franklin Rd. on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022 at 2 pm.  Services will be provided by Bowman’s Funeral Home and All Care Health Solutions, Pastor Jose Gutierrez.

Judy grew up and spent her younger years in Texas. Her father was a Border Patrol Officer so they relocated a few times from Hebbronville, TX to McAllen, TX and Brownsville, TX.  She was described by her peers as a sweet, cute gal and a genuinely nice person. Her senior year in high school she was voted Senior Class Favorite.

Eventually, life brought Judy to Boise, Idaho in the early 1960’s, where she raised four boys and lived out the rest of her days.  She worked as a Dispatcher and Records Clerk for the Boise Police Department, Office Supervisor for the American Red Cross, at Carl’s Cycles with her best friend Liz Struthers, and finally in the office of Treasure Valley Bible Church before retiring.

Judy loved her family and friends and would jump at the opportunity to spend time with anyone that would have her. She would always remember every important date in anyone’s life. There was seldom a time she would miss a birthday, employment or wedding anniversary or any significant date for anyone she felt was special to her.

Her hobbies in life included reading, gardening, playing cards, bingo, noodle ball, spending time at her cabin in Cascade, ID and really enjoyed a good TACO! She also loved to attend her grandchildren’s sporting events.  It didn’t matter what the sport, it was more about getting out of the house and chitchatting with her family.  She couldn’t tell you the score of any game she ever attended. Later in life, she had the opportunity to spend time in the mountains at her sons’ cabin in Cascade and house in Donnelly, ID. The holidays were very special to her, and she relished seeing her kids and grandkids come home for Thanksgiving and Christmas. She would always have a stocking from Santa and would be the first to tear into her gifts and goodies. It was truly a blessing to see her in those moments of happiness.

Judy is survived by her four sons and their spouses: Bruce (Becky), Donnelly ID; Rick, Boise, ID; Tom (Kellie), Nampa, ID; Tim (Caryn), Meridian, ID. Grandchildren: Jeremy Dornbusch, Heather Foster, Josh Dornbusch and Josie Walters (Bruce & Becky) McKaylin Walters, Hayden Walters, Shaylie Blanchard, Mason Walters, and Challis Jenkins (Tom & Kellie) Jordyn, Cooper, Dawson and Keaban Walters(Tim & Caryn) There are numerous great-grandchildren.

Daughter-in-law, Caryn, was a protector, friend, and angel on earth to Judy. She was always there for Mom and they would speak daily. Caryn escorted her to errands nobody else could. She spent many hours helping her shop, get to doctor appointments and comforting her in hospital emergency rooms. Caryn was strong for her when mom was most vulnerable and feeling her worst. Thank you, Caryn, for all you did and staying with her to the end.  You are a special person and Mom truly loved you as a daughter.

Judy did not have a perfect, fairy-tale life but she always made it seem that way. She protected and supported her family as fiercely as she loved them. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother anyone could ask for. She loved and served the Lord and He will deliver everything He promises to OUR Angel in His Kingdom.  Mom, we will love you eternally! Thank you for sharing your life with us! See you soon.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Meridian Cemetery, 895 E. Franklin Rd., Meridian.
