Joyce Charlaine (Post) Parker, 90 passed peacefully in her sleep the morning of Saturday, July 29, 2023.  Joyce was born in Boise, ID to Fred and Geneva Post on September 18, 1932 and was the youngest of two children.

Growing up, she loved going to musicals regularly at the local theaters. At the young age of 5 Joyce started playing piano and at the age of eight she played the piano at Westminster Hall in Boise where she was awarded highest honors at the audition.

Joyce graduated from Boise High school in 1950 and met Robert Parker (Bob) shortly after on a blind date and they were married 6 weeks later on Sept. 2, 1950.

They had four children (3 sons and 1 daughter) and raised them in Boise, the house was full of fun and adventure.

Joyce’s husband Bob , worked as a Prudential agent and enjoyed being part of the “Prudential Family” where they made many lifelong friends. A favorite summertime activity was packing up the kids in the red Rambler station wagon and heading to Robie Creek for a picnic and swimming.

Joyce worked at Albertson’s, Capitol Title at the Idaho Department of transportation but her love was always family and friends. Joyce and Bob enjoyed traveling and took vacations to California, Washington, Hawaii, Missouri, Canada, the Panama Canal, and an Alaskan cruise. They enjoyed a wonderful 50 th Wedding Anniversary celebration that their daughter Diane organized complete with chauffeured limousine.

Joyce was an accomplished artist and painted both oil and water color pictures.  She enjoyed traveling with her art group and was a charter member of Idaho Centennial Art Group.  She not only attended art classes, she also taught them.  Many of her painting were sold locally and also exhibited at “Art of Roses” which showcases local artists. She was a loving wife and mother and cherished being a grandmother and great grandmother! Joyce always saw the glass as “half full” and she would make sure all visitors were greeted with a smile and would make it a point to make sure they got to enjoy some of her famous homemade cookies. Local workers that she hired loved working for her as she would always make sure they had a nice cold treat before they left the job.

Christmas was her favorite holiday and having the house full of the love, joy, and laughter of family were her most cherished memories.

Joyce is survived by her three children, Robert (aka Scott), Dave, and Ronald (Ron), six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Geneva Post, her brother Kenny Post, her husband Robert Parker, and daughter Diane (Parker) Wood.
