John Daniel Castleberry

John Daniel Castleberry stepped into heaven at the age of 86 on October 10th 2025 in Boise, Idaho.

He was born in Polson, Montana as the third son of Clarice Williamette Stanley and John Russell Castleberry. He joined the Navy in 1957 and served until 1961. Dan married the love of his life Glenda Gail Anderson in 1959, together they raised three children in the Bay Area.

Dan started his career at Southern Pacific Railroad as a patrolman in Oakland, CA. As a lieutenant he created the first K-9 unit for the SP police department. His last promotion was to Captain of the Oregon Division. The family moved to Oregon City, OR and he finished out his career with SP. 

Dan and Glenda loved traveling in their RV and spent years criss-crossing the country. They eventually settled down in Midvale, Idaho and spent winters in Wellton, AZ.

Glenda preceded him in death in 2018. 

He is survived his children Kelly (Jerry) Allen, Daniel (Cynthia) Castleberry, and Becky Entenman and grandchildren Kaitlyn Allen, Cody Entenman, Garrett Allen, Matt Entenman, Jessika (Robert) Williams, Daniel Castleberry, and Zach Entenman and great grandchildren Zoe Williams, Freya Williams, Hope Williams, and Sophie Williams.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor, Garden City, Idaho.
