Joellen Louderback, 79, of Eagle, ID passed away on January 24, 2023 after a valiant fight against a prolonged illness.
Joellen was born February 12, 1943 to Joseph and Lois Pauline Coplan in Phoenix, AZ. She grew up in a loving family as the second of four children.
Shortly after graduating high school, she married Charles Leonard Johnson. Together they had two children, a son, Leslie, and a daughter, Kimberly Jo. Charles was in an industrial accident which left Joellen a widow in 1964. Thomas Grant Louderback entered her life early in 1968 and they were married by June. Together they raised a blended family of six. Three more beautiful daughters, Rhonda, Lara and Danee as well as a son, Benjamin, completed their family. Joellen was a wonderful mother who loved her children fiercely. She led them with determination and taught them to love nature, be courageous and find joy.
After her children grew, she bravely continued her education and became a respiratory therapist. She loved animals and would greet any dog she met with affection. She brilliantly trained her black lab, Shadow, to be a therapy dog and spent numerous hours with him visiting patients in the hospital where she worked.
Joellen was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served her family and church with her innumerable talents.
After retirement, she and Tom left Arizona, made a few Pacific Northwest stops, finally settling in Eagle, Idaho. She was highly esteemed by those who knew her. Her laugh was contagious and she shared it often.
Joellen is proceeded in death by her parents, her sister (Beverly), former spouse (Charles), daughter-in-law (Loretta) and great granddaughters (Alicia Rose and Olivia Jo). Joellen is survived by her spouse of 54 years, Thomas Louderback, her brothers Richard and James, her children Leslie (Roxanne) Johnson, Kimberly (Melvin) Hughes, Rhonda (Landon) Loertscher, Lara (Shane) Elliott, Danee (Lee) DeLapp, Benjamin (Brooke) Louderback, 38 grandchildren, and 65 great grandchildren.
