JoAnn Elizabeth Bellon

JoAnn Elizabeth Bellon, 82, of Boise, Idaho, died of natural causes on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Skyline Transitional Care Center with her family by her side.

JoAnn was born June 11, 1941, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to Joseph and Clara Mae Bellon (VanHorn).

JoAnn had three brothers, Larry, Jerry, and Gene.

When JoAnn was about six months old the family moved to Nyssa, Oregon where her father worked for Amalgamated Sugar Company. JoAnn attended school in Nyssa, Oregon and graduated in 1959 from Nyssa High School. JoAnn met James Jefferies and they married in 1961. They lived in Nyssa, Oregon for a time then moved to Parma, Idaho where they had a son Gene. They lived in Parma until they divorced in 1985. JoAnn worked for the Parma School District for many years dedicating her service to the success of students. Shortly after her divorce and moving to Caldwell, Idaho JoAnn took a job at The College of Idaho. She worked in different departments but again dedicated her service to students and created a better future for them as they passed through her office from time to time.

When JoAnn retired she remained in Caldwell.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Clara Mae Bellon, brothers Larry, Jerry, Gene, niece Lee Ann, and grandson David.

JoAnn is survived by her Son, Gene (Cami) Jefferies, granddaughter Jessica Scruggs, granddaughter Kaiya (Timothy) Seibert, grandson Anthony Jefferies, and 4 nephews and 1 niece.

JoAnn has 8 great grandchildren who survive her.

There will be a private graveside service for the Family.

A celebration of JoAnn’s life will be held on July 13, 2024 at a location TBD.
