Jerry Dean Turner, a beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend, passed away October 31, 2025, after a full and adventurous life. Born on March 14, 1950, in Boise, Idaho, to Una Amy Brown and Archie Turner, Jerry’s life was marked by courage, dedication, and a deep love of family and community.

Jerry grew up in West Boise alongside his twin brother Larry Lee Turner. Their childhood was full of spirited adventures and close brotherly bonds—memories that included a makeshift slide in their yard, daring haircuts into mohawks, and shared passions for cars, fishing, and wrestling.

A proud graduate of Capital High School’s class of 1968, Jerry joined the Army Air National Guard at age 18, embarking on a distinguished military career. Serving with the Idaho Army Air National Guard, he earned multiple prestigious awards for aviation safety, including a decade of accident-free flying and a 15-year Award of Excellence in Aviation Safety. His exemplary 23 1/2 years of service was recognized by the Adjutant Generals of Idaho, a testament to his skill, dedication, and commitment to safety.

During his military service, Jerry built a fulfilling civilian life in Boise. On November 6, 1970, he married Leona Marie Dunsworth, and together they made their first home at the Flying "H" Trailer Ranch. Later building their permanent on Tamarack Drive across the street from Jerry's parents home. Jerry worked with the Boise Independent School District and found joy in his weekend projects with Larry, rebuilding car engines and preparing for family adventures.

In 1983, Jerry earned his associate degree in applied electronics technology from Boise State University's School of Vocational Technical Education. That let him to start working at Xerox Office Products and Solutions, where he fixed copy machines as a repair tech for 24 years until retirement.

Jerry’s entrepreneurial spirit shone in the 1980s when he co-founded TT&T, a painting contracting business with his brothers Wayne and Larry. His dedication to the business and his family was unwavering, and the Turner brothers shared many evenings filled with laughter, campfires, and camaraderie.

An avid fisherman and sports enthusiast, Jerry competed passionately in bass fishing tournaments until 2024. Even after retiring from competition, he remained a beloved fixture by organizing children’s tournaments and sharing his love of the sport with younger generations, including his great-nephew Tilton, who made an impressive debut under Jerry’s encouraging presence. Wrestling was another bond that Jerry and Larry shared, supporting their children as assistant coaches and keen supporters of the USA Junior Olympics Club wrestling program.

Later in life, Jerry traveled to Round Rock, Texas, in 2012 to be closer to family, particularly supporting his son Dustin and his wife Debbie. Jerry cherished the times spent with his brothers and family, including memorable fishing trips with Wayne and Larry.

Jerry is remembered for his warm spirit, his readiness for adventure, and his generous heart. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience that will forever inspire those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Archie and Una; sister, Barbara J (Allen) Frentress, and brother, Wayne A Turner, nephews Wade, Casey Turner, and Duane Frentress; nieces; Shelly, Bryana Turner and Debra Wiker. He is survived by his wife Leona, son Dustin D (Deborah)Turner and his brother Larry L (Ramona) Turner, nephews, Kiley (Laura)and Tori Turner, Curtis Wiker, and Dennis (Debbie) Wiker; great nieces, Stephanie, Kimberly, Abigail, Maddi, and Lillian; great nephews, Preston and Tilton; great-great nieces, Danielle and Averie, all who were touched by his kindness and strength.

Jerry Dean Turner’s life was a testament to the power of family, friendship, and service. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
