Jeff Hughes, beloved husband, father, and grandpa, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unforgettable dad jokes. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 43 years, a proud father of two, a father in law and a joyful grandfather to his cherished twin grandchildren, Emma and Aiden.
Jeff had a true zest for life. Whether he was cracking a corny joke, sporting one of his signature Hawaiian shirts, or sharing a cold Coors Light with a friend, he made everyone around him feel at home. He was a firm believer that Bigfoot might be real—and definitely worth talking about.
He was the ultimate cheer dad—traveling to competitions, shouting the loudest from the stands, and always the first to celebrate a win (or offer a high-five after a tough loss). Jeff even stepped into the role of coach, becoming a trusted mentor, motivator, and biggest supporter for countless athletes over the years.
Above all, Jeff was deeply family-oriented. He lived for family barbecues, fishing trips, and any moment spent with the people he loved. His presence lit up every room, and his warmth and humor made life more fun for everyone lucky enough to know him.
Jeff will be missed beyond words but remembered with every laugh, every cast of a fishing line, and every story told in a loud shirt with a cold drink in hand.
In honor of Jeff, hug your loved ones a little tighter, cheer loudly from the sidelines, never pass up the chance to tell a good joke, and always say “I love you” when you leave.
In lieu of flowers, Jeff's family would like to place a bench in his honor along the Boise Greenbelt ~ one of his favorite fishing spots. If you'd like to contribute to this memorial, donations may sent via Venmo to the Hughes family. https://venmo.com/u/Crystal-Hughes-21
